The Indian Purple Frog is fat and round, and vastly different from other frogs (as you can see from the picture). This frog is only found in India and it has an unusual nose and a small head that is submerged with its body. This frog is also very rare and very few people have actually seen it.

The reason that very few people have seen it is that it only spends 2 weeks on the ground. It chooses the monsoon season to appear above ground and for the purpose of mating. For the rest of the year, the Indian Purple Frog spends time in hiding. Due to its unique snout, this frog is also known as pignose frog.
